LANNEX INSTRUMENTATION MECHANIC mpumalanga Sylvania Metals is seeking an Instrumentation Mechanic to support the Company’s Eastern Operations Team with regard to maintenance, improving plant availability and cost control. Main tasks of the position: •The licensee will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the accuracy of the measured variables. •Maintain and update the instrumentation of the existing plant. •Maintain, install and commission field instruments. •Ensure that calibration documents/records are kept up to date. •Ensure compliance with the company’s Health and Safety Standards. •Develop and implement control and automation philosophy. Knowledge/education requirements: •Trade test certificate certified as an Instrumentation Mechanic. • Knowledge of PGM’s flotation plant control philosophy will be valued. • Computer skills. •Knowledge of Rockwell RSLOGIX 5000 PLC, Micrologix 500 and FTView SCADA will be an advantage. •Knowledge of ControlNet, DeviceNet and Industrial EtherNet would be an advantage. Experience and requirements: •At least 3 years of related industry experience. •Certificate of aptitude in force. •Driver’s license code 8 and own transport. • Good safety and housekeeping skills are essential. Other requirements: •Prepared to carry out reservation tasks. • Prepared to work overtime when necessary.
