Job profile Job Title: IT Manager Reporting to: Directors Area: Durban Job offer With technology playing an increasingly important role in the development and success of the modern retail business. It is critical that we hire an IT Manager who will be responsible for addressing technology-related enhancements, development and operations within the group. As the leader of the IT department and an employee responsible for systems and information throughout the organization, her role exists to translate and deliver strategic intent into operational execution of all technology-related requirements.

1. KEY PERFORMANCE AREA Strategies development:

• Translate business strategy into tactical IT strategies to address key business requirements, drive capacity, and produce delivery roadmaps and associated domain architecture. • Contribute to the development of the IT strategy. Service delivery and project management: • Actively engage with internal stakeholders to interpret business IT requirements, consult and provide expertise and advice. • Plan, implement and evaluate IT service delivery and project requirements in specific areas of the business to align with established standard service agreements. Financial management: • Develop a departmental budget and monitor/control spending to meet established IT strategy. • Collaborate with finance to ensure financial viability where there are department/project overlaps Risk management: • Stay on top of legislative requirements and best practices (eg, FADN, POPI, ECT Act) to highlight risks to the business and ensure compliance at all times. • Track, control and manage IT audits and risk management across respective portfolios Team management: • Ensure workload within the team is distributed fairly and in line with team priorities and abilities to meet departmental KPIs/goals. • Keep abreast of the talent pool internally and externally to help recruit top talent into the team • Drive succession, training and development within the team to ensure resource capacity and business continuity. Management of service providers: • Manage IT service providers and related contractors, including activities such as vendor selection, contract negotiation, cost control, third-party risk mitigation, and maintenance of service delivery. Security management: • Ensure that, at all times, the technology landscape within the scope of control is secure and, to the extent possible, safe from any external hacking or phishing attacks that may cause reputational damage or information leakage.

2. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• A completed degree or diploma in Computer Science or a relevant technical field • Minimum experience of 8 years in the IT industry and 4 years in a management position • Experience working in a retail environment • Proven track record of delivering IT projects on time and within budget • Effective management and negotiation with Service Providers • People Management
