Public relations officer Closing date: May 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. REPORTS TO: Boss: Stakeholder and commitment UNIT: Communication LOCATION: Pretoria VACANCY STATUS: Permanent Position VACANCY REFERENCE: PRO/V2/05/2022 MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Public Relations Officer is responsible for the Development, Coordination and Maintenance of the Engagement and Stakeholders unit with the aim of promoting and maintaining the NHC brand and services. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Manage social media content across all relevant platforms Implement the organizational communication strategy Coordinate relations with the media. Coordinate brand activities. Provide communications and public relations to all business units. Write and edit articles for website, intranet and newsletters MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum educational requirements 3-year degree/diploma in journalism, public relations, or relevant NQF level 7 Required work experience: 3 years of work experience in liaison with the media or relevant environment Working knowledge and understanding of the communications environment, policy and understanding of government communication is required. Required functional knowledge/skills: Creative thinking concept thinking analytical thinking Effectiveness of interpersonal communication planning and organizing Negotiation skills Knowledge of legislation policies. Innovation database software Projects management Computer Literacy, Mrs. Office Advanced report writing skills. The selected candidate will be responsible for: The Coordination and Maintenance of Stakeholders and Engagement unit aims to promote and maintain the NHC brand and services. The selected candidate is expected to travel from time to time. Valid SA driver’s license code 08 is a prerequisite.
