Internal and External Advertising – PORT ELIZABETH QUANTITY SUPERVISOR / PROJECT MANAGER CRITICAL CONSTRUCTION ITEMS RELEVANT TO THE CURRENT BUSINESS
• Must have experience in Civil Works: Asphalt, Repaving, Patching, Placing Pavements and Sidewalks. • Must have experience with concrete work, concrete sidewalks, concrete bus dams, concrete v-drains, and concrete gutters. • Overall responsibility for proper subcontract management of all Gravity project and service subcontractors, including: strategy, location, management, coordination between all internal and external stakeholders, claims, contract closure and budget management in relation to Gravity’s subcontracts for services and projects. . • Direction of the Subcontracting Department of Gravity Projects and Services. • Coordination of technical aspects related to the budget and outsourcing strategy. • Planning and implementation of the Global Strategy for Subcontracting Services and Projects by Gravity. • Call and attend meetings as needed with various internal and external stakeholders on matters such as contractual and commercial, production, payment progress, outsourcing strategy planning and implementation. • Generate correspondence with Subcontractors, Service Providers and Sites as required. • Address price proposals and check progress.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES • B-Tech/BSc QS or relevant qualification. • Degree in Business Management would be an advantage. • Must have 5-7 years of experience. • Must have knowledge of compaction. • Must have knowledge of laboratory tests. • Must have a solid knowledge of the Bidding process in the Private and Government Sector. • Good understanding of project management, project life cycles and schedule requirements. • Good reporting and budget control skills. • Good technical knowledge. • Good communication and leadership skills. • Knowledge of various Subcontracts and Contracts with clients. • Analytical and attentive to details. • Must have experience managing a team. • Takes control and is responsible. • Must have experience negotiating contracts with interpersonal vendors. • High levels of personal and social skills.
